New Girl: The Complete Second Season (2013)

“Who’s that girl? Who’s that girl? It’s Jess!!!” Any fan of FOX’s hit comedy television series “New Girl” will be happy to know that the Complete Second is now out on DVD. If you’ve been a loyal fan of the show since the beginning, then you know this is a show that’s grown in leaps and bounds, yet still stayed true to the characters we fell in love with from the start. Zoey Deschanel (Jess) continues to steal the show as the quirky girl who finds herself living with 3 other guys in a large apartment loft. Nick (Jake Johnson), Schmidt (Max Greenfield) and Winston (Lamorne Morris) are a trifecta of comic geniuses and the show feels like the solid old fashioned sit-coms of the 80’s again. Like a good wine, some things get better as they age and mature, New Girl: Season 2 is certainly one of those things. To watch these dynamic amazing actors with superb comic timing, weave their way in and out of crazy scenarios, schemes and predicaments harkens back to the fun and chaos of classic TV shows like Laverne and Shirley, Three’s Company and I Love Lucy. Each one of the characters easily could have a show of their own, but Schmidt and Nick really seem to steal the show. Nowadays it’s hard to find writing that isn’t rehashed or crude, and this show has the brilliance and the timing to make one laugh out loud almost rhythmically. All 25 episodes are on the DVD and once you start watching, even if you’ve seen the show already, there’s a magic that keeps you hooked and going onto the next one! You’d be hard pressed to find people who don’t enjoy some aspect of the show, or have latched onto their favorite character…New Girl offers something for everyone. Pick up “New Girl: Season 2” this week on DVD, it’s well worth the investment for your home library collection!

Audio/Video: It’s a TV show on DVD, not a Hollywood multi-million dollar blockbuster or a sleek years in the making animated classic. The Video is crisp and in HD and the Audio equally matched. It’s certainly better than watching old TV shows you used to tape and playback on VHS. This is a no brainer.
