For most, Halloween isn’t complete without a trip thru your local towns “Haunted Maze”, whether it’s one created on a nearby college campus, in an abandoned store of a strip mall, in an old cornfield, at a major theme park or a deserted old downtown building. The themes and level of scaring range from family fun, to horrifically terrifying. This year after terrorizing moviegoers with such hit films as four Paranormal Activity movies, Insidious, Sinister and The Purge, producer Jason Blum, founder and CEO of Blumhouse Productions, found a new way to scare audiences.
Now thru Halloween week in Downtown Los Angeles, at the Variety Arts Center, you’ll find “The Purge: Fear the Night”. This truly intense Haunted attraction puts the guests right in the middle of the story that begins as soon as guests set foot in the the door. With elements of interactive theater, enormous set pieces and traditional mazes, this event and it’s cast of 40+ actors offers a new twist on a traditional way to be scared, without traditional horror elements. Following the theme of “The Purge” in which a future United States of America offers up, for once a year, 12 hours in which all crime is legal, up to and including murder, you’ll be sure to have one hell of an adrenaline ride. Beyond the Marquee’s own Jon Donahue takes you on a first hand sneak peek of the dark twists and turns of “The Purge: Fear the Night”
