Up for auction next month is a phenomenal piece of music & movie history – the studio guitar which was used for two iconic scenes in the first Back to the Future movie: the opening scene of Back to the Future when Marty tries Doc’s amplifier and guitar, only to be literally blown away by the speaker; and the memorable scene when Marty is playing “Johnny B. Goode” at the ‘Enchantment Under the Sea’ dance. Full details can be found below so click ahead!

The exact guitar used for recording these two scenes is being offered at auction next month, coming directly from Tim May, an accomplished studio musician who provided the studio recordings for those scenes. The impressive list of historical recordings Tim has used this guitar on goes forever, but a few very popular tracks include Whitney Houston‘s “Saving All My Love”, Lionel Richie‘s “All Night Long”, and Blondie‘s “Call Me”. It’s quite rare that a crossover collector’s item between movies and music becomes available — and this one is “pretty heavy duty”!  A portion of the proceeds from sale of this item will go to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. Full details can be found below so click ahead!

Besides the “Johnny B. Goode” guitar, other Back to the Future items are also being offered during the auction, which include the phonebook page containing Doc Brown’s address from Back to the Future, Biff Tannen’s jacket (screen-worn by Tom Wilson) from Back to the Future Part II, photographs of Marty & Doc standing in front of the Hill Valley clock from Back to the Future Part III, and an original advance one-sheet poster from Back to the Future Part III. For additional information or to place a bid for any of these rare Back to the Future collectors items, please visit iCollector.com.
