STAR WARS: REBELS Animated Series

As many eagerly await the next live action installment of the STAR WARS saga: Episode 7 — which is due in theaters December 18, 2015 — fans of the Force will also soon be able to jump into hyperspace a whole year prior via the new STAR WARS: REBELS animated series.

Here is a brand new, seven minute preview of the series!

Essentially the preview is the likes of Disney’s ALADDIN meets STAR WARS. Disney XD’s previous award winning TRON: UPRISING animated series set the benchmark of artistry very high — as did that of the Cartoon Network’s STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS animated series — so it’ll be interesting to see how this series unfolds. We are introduced (or re-introduced) to many iconic STAR WARS designs in this seven minutes, making for a welcome return to this classic imagery. This series is set between the EPISODE III: REVENGE OF THE SITH and EPISODE IV: A NEW HOPE movies — which will show the rise of the Empire, and the beginnings of the Rebels resistance.

STAR WARS: REBELS premieres in the fall as a one-hour special on the Disney Channel, then debuts as a series on Disney XD worldwide.
