For the eighth time ever, the world famous TCL Chinese Theatre IMAX®, in a major theatrical gesture of one showman saluting another, will dim the lights (Tonite, Tues., Aug. 12) in its acclaimed forecourt at about 8:30PM for one minute in tribute to Hollywood icon and Academy Award® winner ROBIN WILLIAMS.

Robin’s first film, “POPEYE,” debuted at the TCL Chinese Theatre on Hollywood Blvd where he still has a handprint/footprint in the forecourt, set in 1998, for “PATCH ADAMS”…

In addition, at least eight of Williams’ feature films premiered at the TCL Chinese Theatre, including “Mrs. Doubtfire,” “Good Morning Vietnam,” “Awakenings” and “Bicentennial Man.”

“He was a brilliant entertainer, the gold standard, so immensely talented; in a town loaded with talent, he was a unique super-talent,” remembers Alwyn Hight Kushner, President/COO, TCL Chinese Theatres. “Tonight, we say thank you, Robin.”
