After taking flight in the night to regain control over her castle, she finds out that Robin Hood has decided to accompany her as he wishes to pay a debt for what she did in protecting his son, Roland. Robin can tell that the Evil Queen was once a mother, and that those were her motherly instincts kicking in as she saved him from the Wicked Witch’s Flying Monkey. Once they made there way through the underground passageway, the Wicked Witch was stunned to find the door to her crypt open, when she had a blood protection against anyone getting inside it. Once she got inside the main castle chamber, the Evil Queen revealed her true intentions for being there. In order to accomplish her goal of taking a sleeping curse, she had to cast a spell on Robin Hood by locking him in place, and fixating him into the ground. Robin Hood implored Regina to see reason, and instill the idea that she just needs something new to live for. After breaking the spell, as she braced herself in going into a permanent slumber, something that happened that changed her future forever. With the spell broke, the true love between Henry and her was the only thing that could wake her from her resting place.

Meanwhile, in present day Storybrooke, a lot of it’s population has been vanishing inexplicably as the towns residents try to make sense of what took place to lead them back to Storybrooke. Although everyone initially led a witch hunt against Regina, Regina showed that if they wanted her to be the Evil Queen she would relish in it. To Emma’s credit though she held confident that it was someone else who was responsible for these atrocities. In order for the culprit to reveal their identity, Emma decided to go back to her professional roots, and plant the seed that Regina had been creating a memory potion. With that information made public by Grumpy at Granny’s Diner, the Wicked Witch took action into her own hands. Although there was a blood curse placed outside of the Mayor’s Office, somehow the criminal came in beat the charm revealing something definitive. That the individual behind the kidnapping, who’s been turning the likes of Little John and others into Flying Monkey’s, was the Wicked Witch. Even though Regina didn’t share in the realization that they wished revenge and pain on each other, part of the mystery had revealed itself. How this ties into the past into what happened at the Evil Queen’s Castle is that in fact, it’s revealed that the Wicked Witch and the Evil Queen, or Zelena and Regina respectively, are half sisters. Although this was news to the Evil Queen, them being related and all, it’s Zelena’s jealousy of not having Cora as a true mother to raise her that has caused the Wicked Witch to spite the Evil Queen.  Through her envy, the Wicked Witch tells her half sister that she will stop at nothing to see her in pain. The Evil Queen says then why not simply kill her, and the Wicked Witch replies where the fun in that would be.
