MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Episode 6: Fzzt (T.V. review)

SHIELD Level 7

The title of this episode — Fzzt — is not a misspelling of Agent Fitz’s name.  Nor is it the latest, greatest energy drink (Drink Fzzt to stay strong!).  Instead it’s the onomatopoeic version of the electrical sound that precedes each death in this week’s S.H.I.E.L.D. adventure (Yeah, you read that right — proper use of a $5 word like “onomatopoeic.”  Beyond the Marquee spares no expense for our readers’ enjoyment).

This episode contains some juicy red herrings and misleads resulting in a solid mystery.  If you haven’t watched it yet, you should do so before reading on.  Otherwise… read on.

Lindalee Rose Slated to Attend the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Celebration in London!

She’ll be talking to the die-hard fans of the show who are in attendance and will also spend some time with several of the Doctor’s themselves! There might even be a surprise or two (or 12) in store, so be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for exclusive notifications on everything that’s happening. Keep checking back on Beyond the Marquee for updates leading up to, during and after the event!

Disney XD Teams with NBA for “Pranksgiving”

XDPranksgivingNBA players will join Disney XD in “giving pranks” throughout November as Disney XD returns the hit programming event “Pranksgiving,” beginning today. A specially drafted NBA pranking crew—Tyson Chandler (New York Knicks), Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors), Kenneth Faried (Denver Nuggets) and DeAndre Jordan (Los Angeles Clippers)—get in the pranking game with the comedic and unpredictable puppet Crash (of the sitcom Crash & Bernstein) and together, they pull fun and over-the-top tricks on Disney XD’s biggest stars. Each Monday, a new fan-voted prank will be revealed on Disney XD along with new prank-themed episodes including Dwight Howard (Houston Rockets) guest starring in the new comedy series Mighty Med.

“Pranksgiving” will also feature the return of the hidden camera series Just Kidding and the launch of a comedic Japanese-style game show Japanizi: Going, Going, Gong! Both series will roll out with new episodes weeknights throughout the month beginning tonight (7:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., ET/PT, respectively).

This evening (8:30 p.m., ET/PT), Dwight Howard guest stars as The Great Defender, a superhero with the ability to create a defensive shield and make powers rebound off of him, in the new sitcom Mighty Med. When Kaz and Oliver (played by popular Disney stars Bradley Steven Perry and Jake Short) learn that pranks do not exist in the world of their superhero friend Skylar (played by newcomer Paris Berelc), they set out to teach her how to prank. When The Great Defender joins in, he takes the pranks too far and wreaks havoc on the hospital.

Beyond the Marquee: The Web-Series (Episode 57) – Son of Monsterpalooza

If you love Monsters, Aliens, Creatures, Horror, really scary things and live anywhere near Southern Califiornia, then you’ve got to check out the fantastic “Monsterpalooza” conventions produced by Eliot Brodsky. Earlier in October we visited “Son of Monsterpalooza”, the sequel to the biggest event in Burbank back in April, “Monsterpalooza”! It’s here where you can find the largest gathering of award winning special FX artists, special make-up presentations, monster related art work and special guests from Horror and Sci-fi television and films. Veteran Marquee’ologist Jon Donahue and newcomer to the BTM hosting team; Andy Cohen took to the floor of the “Son of Monsterpalooza” convention to check out all the fun and talk to some of the attendees. You may want to keep the lights on for this one…
