The Walt Disney Studios is pleased to announce that it is in development on the film adaptation of Artemis Fowl with producer Harvey Weinstein. The live-action feature will be based on the first and second installments in Disney Publishing Worldwide’s best-selling children’s fiction series by author Eoin Colfer. The screenplay is being written by Michael Goldenberg (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix). Robert DeNiro and Jane Rosenthal will executive produce the project. Are you an Artemis Fowl fan? “Stranded” is Story Challenged

This science fiction thriller starts out well, but burns and crashes when it goes to a familiar place. Although Stranded does have some good actors and the sets are pretty cool, it’s the recognizable story that makes it a copy cat. However, if you like films about a stranded group of astronauts that get attached by an alien, then this is your cup of tea.

Disney’s FANDOM is on its way!

Disney XD, the cable channel, will transform to Disney FANDOM, a three-night programming event that celebrates fans and showcases programming from Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel and more TUESDAY, JULY 30 – THURSDAY, AUGUST 1 (8:00 p.m., ET/PT – 1:00 a.m., ET/PT) on the Disney XD platform.

The special event geared towards fans 13 and older, will feature Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies and a Star Wars documentary, as well as special episodes created just for Disney Fandom including “On The Red Carpet” Disney Fandom edition, “Once Upon a Time: For the Fans,” Live Well Network’s “My Family Recipe Rocks – Star Wars” special edition, as well as “Meet the Disney Legends.”

Fans will also get a sneak peek at Phase Two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World,” Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” and Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy,” along with Disney’s “Frozen,” “Planes,” and ABC’s “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland.” On Tuesday, July 23, Disney.com/Fandom will launch with special looks from the three-day programming event, a printable schedule, the latest news and “Disney Fandom” polls, as well as, a selection of popular games from Marvel and the first three “Pirates of the Caribbean” films.
