Great Scott!! A Video Update on the BACK TO THE FUTURE DeLorean “A” Car Restoration

“The way I see it, if you’re gonna build a time machine into a car, why not do it with some style?”

– ‘Doc’ Emmett L. Brown

The “A” DeLorean will return!

Synchronize your watches … the Back to the Future DeLorean is coming back!

Our good pal, Steve Concotelli, a member of the restoration team of the original DeLorean Time Machine – Hero “A” car from the Back to the Future trilogy, dropped us a line over the weekend.  He sent us a video to share with our Beyond the Marquee followers showcasing behind-the-scenes footage of the restoration hosted by none other than writer and producer of Back to the Future, Bob Gale.  The entire team has been dedicated to faithfully restoring the iconic movie prop starting with a complete tear-down of the car to a painstaking and detailed ground-up restoration.  In time, you’ll appreciate all the hard work, passion and commitment that they’ve put into making the car last for current and future generations.

The Avengers Assemble on SNL…well sort of.

Jeremy Renner hosted last weekend’s Saturday Night Live on NBC and if you missed it, you missed a funny parody skit of Marvel’s The Avengers, in which some of the key SNL players donned the iconic heroes costumes. From Thor, Nick Fury, Iron Man, The Hulk, Black Widow, Captain America and of coure Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye. If you ever questioned Hawkeye’s value to the Avenger team or pondered his limits of not having a super-power and of just being a hell of a great archer, then check out this video. Drop us a line below and let us know what you thought!

Tom Wilson Sings About those Butthead Sci-Fi Conventions!

Back to the Future fans are no strangers to Tom Wilson (aka Biff Tannen) who when not acting, expresses his other talents like painting, stand-up and singing. He most recently released this parody song video of him singing…while possibly at a stand-up comedy gig, about his sci-fi convention experiences. And if you’ve never seen Tom’s Back to the Future song, you MUST click HERE!

Marquee Mama Reviews Steven Spielberg’s LINCOLN (Film Review)

Marquee Mama Reviews LINCOLN

This is a first for me.  You’d normally come here to read about kid movies, family-friendly films – pretty much nothing with a rating stronger than PG (which includes films like Wreck-It Ralph and The Lorax).  But I stepped out recently with my husband for date night to see the much-anticipated Lincoln.  It was a good date.

A quick warning to wives/girlfriends everywhere – this is not a romantic evening out.  What it is, however, is a fantastic film, an intriguing history lesson and a provocative conversation starter.  No matter how much you know going in, or how little, you will have lots to talk about after the credits.

Breaking dawn POSTER

Breaking Dawn Part 2, for Female Twilight Fans (Film Review)

No matter what I say about The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2, the fanatic female fans of The Twilight Saga will head to the theaters in droves.  A flick for the chicks, the men may as well stay at home from this mushy romance that thinks it’s a fantasy yet panders to lust and a family affair.  A far cry from Breaking Dawn Part 1 the film could have been and should have been more of a barn burner like Part 2 of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Lincoln POSTER

Lincoln, American Politics 1865 (Film Review)

The biopic film Lincoln provides a look at how politics changed the United States in the final months of the 16th President’s life.  It’s a dark boding story that takes you into the heart of a historical political debate, a congress divided and a family being pulled apart. If you like films with educational substance, excellent acting and dark cinematography, then Lincoln should top your “must see” list.
