Adventures in Babysitting BTM Exclusive Event, this Saturday night!

This week is the release of the 1987 Touchtone Film Adventures in Babysitting on Blu-Ray, and Beyond the Marquee is celebrating it in style with an Exclusive event just for you! As you may well know, actor Keith Coogan who is a longtime friend of our site and the BTM team, played the character of Brad in the late 80’s comedy hit. Well, tonight on Keith’s weekly Internet/Radio show; THE CALL SHEET, Beyond the Marquee’s own Senior Reporter and on-camera personality Jon Donahue, along with the multi-talented BTM Field Reporter/Voice-Over Artist AJ LoCascio, take to the air-waves with Coogan himself to do a LIVE, REAL TIME commentary of the film! The show starts at 8:00pm and soon after, fans of the movie will be prompted to cue up their Blu-Ray discs at home to watch the film and listen along to REAL TIME commentary with one of the film’s stars and some of the movie-loving staff of Beyond the Marquee! As a BONUS, we will be getting Keith to sign some copies of the new Blu-Ray & original movie poster, which we’ll be giving away soon, right here on BeyondtheMarquee.com! I. Love. Zombies. All zombies. The runners, the walkers, the legless crawlers … and even the dismembered kind that still try to bite you, even though they have no body. They are scary, creepy, and they just want to eat you. Nothing more, nothing less. I also LOVE horror and interesting characters that I can root for.

So, when I heard that a show about zombies was being created by one of my favorite directors, Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, The Mist), I was stoked, to say the least. Well, I wasn’t disappointed. The first season blew me away with it’s well written story of a group of zombie apocalypse survivors, led by police officer Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), who are battling the undead in search of a safe haven.

Chariots Of Fire – (Blu-Ray Review)

In honor of the 2012 London Olympic Games, Warner Bros. has released a beautiful Blu-Ray transfer of their 1981 Best Picture winner, Chariots of Fire. The disc is an AVC encoded 1080p transfer in 1.78:1 and keeps the dark grays and saturated tones of cinematographer David Watkins original film print in tact. Warners has gone out of their way to make this disc special with a complete Chariots of Fire experience. If you love this film, then you are getting more than your money’s worth with a retrospective book included in the case along with loads of special features. It also includes interviews with the cast, a documentary of the 1924 Olympic Games and even commentary from director, Hugh Hudson.
