Check out this first look from Disney’s Maleficent, which began production on June 13. This is the untold story of Disney’s most beloved villain, Maleficent, from the 1959 classic Sleeping Beauty. The film reveals the events that hardened her heart and drove her to curse the baby Aurora.

Recently Beyond the Marquee sat down for an EXCLUSIVE 30th Anniversary interview with Aileen Quinn, the actress who three decades ago portrayed that lovable freckle faced red-headed orphan America fell in love with; ANNIE. That 1982 musical comedy became an instant classic and has continued to entertain legions of old and new fans. Over the years, Pixar has dazzled and entranced families with their revolutionary computer generated offerings. We’ve seen tales of insects, monsters, rats, fish, superheroes, and automobiles. Their first mainstream characters, the toys Woody and Buzz, have been beloved household names since 1995’s TOY STORY. In recent years, Pixar has been pushing the animated genre to grow up a bit. WALL-E dealt with a bleak future of mankind, UP with the pains of losing a spouse, and now the violent BRAVE.
June 18th, 2012 Beyond the Marquee Over the weekend I stumbled across a link to this amazing music video by MrSrslySirius remixed from one of the final scenes of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. WOW! I must have watched this about 20 times in a row as it is truly masterfully edited and just creatively executed. Reminds me a bit of what we’ve been seeing with the Disney mixes from Western Australian Electronic Musician POGO. Don’t know much about this MrSrslySirius, seems to be a parody writer/musician, but hopefully this recent video of his won’t be the last of this kind. Enjoy!
