The first weekend in May should be a good one for comics fans. On May 5, Free Comic Book Day is finally here, and the night before, Marvel The Avengers will debut in theaters. Are you ready for a weekend of pure superhero and comic book fun?

What is Free Comic Book Day?

Free Comic Book Day is a single day – the first Saturday in May each year – when participating comic book shops across North America and around the world give away comic books absolutely FREE* to anyone who comes into their stores. *Check with your local shop for their participation and rules.

He’s taken you behind the scenes at MATTEL Headquarters and toured you around a Time-Travel Art Show…but did you know that AJ Locasio, one of Beyond the Marquee’s awesome field reporters is also a heavy-hitter in the Video Game voice world? He has numerous credits to call his own from Frank Drebin Jr (Naked Gun) and Jeff Goldblum (Thirty Flights of Loving), but his most popular is none other than Marty McFly from the Telltale’s “Back to the Future” games. http://paranerds.com this week ranked AJ in their Top 10 list of Video Game voice Actors. The power that Marvel’s The Avengers has amassed from major hits by each of the sci-fi action heroes pushing the release of this film has reached near fever pitch, and it’s about time the super hero team came out to play. Wild, rowdy and fantastic this fabulous five kicks butt with an imaginative two hours plus that has me wanting more. If you are into adventure/action and fantasy then don your cape, grab your hammer, slide you arm into your shield and wear Hulk green in support of Marvel’s The Avengers.

Disney XD delves inside the computer world of The Grid and the people who live there with “TRON: Uprising,” a visually striking new animated television series that follows the heroic journey of a new character, a young program named Beck, who becomes the unlikely leader of a revolution. The series, produced in CG animation with a 2D aesthetic, is set in the era of “TRON” between the stories in the 1982 feature film and Walt Disney Studios’ “TRON: Legacy.” Disney Channel will present “TRON: Uprising, Beck’s Beginning,” a 30-minute uninterrupted prelude to the series on FRIDAY, MAY 18 (9:30– 10:00 p.m., ET/PT). The special will encore uninterrupted on Disney XD on MONDAY, MAY 21(7:00 p.m. ET/PT), followed by the series launch on THURSDAY, JUNE 7 (9:00 p.m.) on Disney XD.

It seems like just yesterday that the 1995 film, CLUELESS, introduced us to the glamourous world of Beverly Hills teen, Cher Horowitz, whose penchant for helping others with their relationships and self-esteem was a cover for her own loneliness. And now 17 years later, this smart and funny variation of Jane Austen’s novel, Emma (Directed by Amy Heckerling; Fast Times at Ridgemont High) hits Blu-Ray for all to enjoy. Beyond the Marquee’s Fashion Reporter, Susan Kemp, caught up with CLUELESS costume designer, Mona May, at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles and took a few minutes to chat with her about her inspiration and choice of style used in the 1995 hit film. CLUELESS is now available May 1st 2012 from Paramount Home Video.

It’s not easy to sum up one of the most unintentionally entertaining serial-killer movies of all time, one which contains a spectacularly memorable line of dialogue, but I’ll bravely give it a go. A group of FBI profilers-in-training are sent to an abandoned island for a training exercise, but upon arrival, things turn deadly, their mode of transport is detroyed, and now trapped on the island, it becomes apparent that one of their own is a serial killer bent on murdering everyone with brilliantly crafted traps designed to prey upon each individuals greatest weakness, information learned over their time working together.

First of all, everyone in this movie deserved to die, for the first rule of deserted islands is that you do not go there unless there has been a zombie apocalypse, in which case, the deserted island is the first place you go.
