31 Nights of Nightmares, Part 3: The Revenge of Chrissy Lynn

31-non-chrissy-10

Derek Easley’s 31 Nights of Nightmares is here again, with looks at “Scream Queens” on FOX (over-the-top fun), “Aftermath” on SyFy (interesting premise, but needs time to develop), and the film “Krampus” (which was delightful in every way!). But first, I caught up with my dear friend Chrissy Lynn Kyle, who is an amazing cosplayer (famous for her Catwoman & Rogue cosplays) and a talented makeup artist for film, viral web videos, and spooky live events. She gets in the Halloween spirit by covering her friends in blood and prosthetics, styling crazy natural hair and wigs, or conjuring spells as Mary Sanderson from “Hocus Pocus”.

31 Nights of Nightmares, Part 2: The Haunted Covered Bridge

Greetings once more to Derek Easley’s “31 Nights of Nightmares”! I certainly hope your October is as chilling as mine so far. In this installment, we’ll look at 2 new television pilots (one that is quite worthy, and one that is just fair) , a controversial horror art film (which is masterful and atrocious at the same time), and I’ll tell you about a scary real-life adventure I had on a haunted bridge up here in NorCal. So sit back, relax, and let the nightmares begin again!

Welcome to a ghoulish and wonderful time of year, Halloweentime, where the Fall Leaves are orange, the pumpkins are ripe and carved, and the blood is red and dripping from the walls!

Every year I like to celebrate by rolling out a blog series I like to call “Derek Easley’s 31 NIGHTS OF NIGHTMARES”!

Beyond the Marquee Celebrates it’s 5th Year!

Happy 5th Birthday to Us!

Happy 5th Birthday to Us!

I won’t say that I feel exactly like Captain James T Kirk today, but clearly I am taking a look back at what’s been our 5-year mission since launching Beyond the Marquee and I can’t help but feel a bit of a fun connection to a journey filled with mystery, exploration, laughter, tears, growth, change and Romulans. Ok, maybe not Romulans, but certainly a loyal, hard-working, creative, and colorful crew who took a chance and had a thirst for adventure into the vast unknown.

Today marks Beyond the Marquee’s 5th Anniversary on the Internet. And, although the intentions of what we envisioned the site to be when we created it have changed over the years, the site proudly still remains a growing presence in the world of Entertainment media. As we enter our quinquennial year (that means the 5 year mark, I had to look it up), we invite our Beyond the Marquee readers to take a step back over the past 1/2 decade with us, as we humbly call-out some of our favorite highlights and accomplishments from our time on the web.  We look forward to what the next 5 years may bring to Beyond the Marquee and its loyal fans.   – Steve Czarnecki

The Dynamic Duo! The Batcave! The Batmobile! Batgirl! The gadgets! Gotham’s Rogues Gallery! It’s all here!

Atomic batteries to power, turbines to…..well I’m sure you know the rest. No? Then perhaps you’ll need to pick up the new release from Titan Books, BATMAN: Facts and Stats From The Classic TV Show. As I thumbed though the book, the red phone in my study beeped. When I answered, it was not Commissioner Gordon on the other end but rather my childhood… summoning me out of the Batcave!

If you’re a fan of the Caped Crusader and you enjoy all things Bat-related then this book needs to be in your collection. To read my full review, slide down the Batpoles and click ahead to Batman!
