NEED FOR SPEED boxart 1

“Need for Speed” an Exciting Transfer to Blu-ray (Video Review)

Hot cars, hot women and hotheads cut loose in Need for Speed an action packed film that will make your head spin. It’s a little of Smokey and the Bandit, a measure of Fast and Furious and a lot of Cannonball Run, and that’s a good thing.  Much like those films, Need for Speed hooks its audience from the very beginning with exciting street racing, an interesting back story and embraceable characters.  Now on Blu-ray and DVD the movie plays well on your home TV, especially if it’s HD and Widescreen.  Slow down the action so you can see every detail or reverse to see what you may have missed.

“GET ON UP” Pops and Rocks (Film Review)

Impressive, the film Get on Up has a fine cast, direction and a story that’s compelling.  It entertains on two levels, a heartrending biography and the music that changed America. The film is directed by Tate Taylor who brought The Help to the screen and here he tackles a difficult bio with an uplifting win that’s pure gold. The film has an uphill battle to win the box-office against the Marvel release, but should do a very well in the long run.

“Guardians of the Galaxy” a MARVEL’ous Adventure (Film Review)

Flashy, perilous and action-packed, the movie, Guardians of the Galaxy, plows into theaters this weekend and it’s good.  Not even 10 minutes into the film and the roller coaster ride begins in this space adventure battleground for control of the universe.  Well-acted and directed, the movie laces eye-popping CGI with fine camerawork drawing the viewer into a swift-moving chase around the galaxy that lasts for nearly 2 hours. Targeted for the thrill seeker, this movie should hit the bull’s eye for a big box-office take.
