An adventure as big as the universe awaits you in EARTH TO ECHO

32 years ago my parents took me to see E.T: The Extra-Terrestrial, Steven Spielberg’s amazing film about a boy who befriends a lost alien and with the aide of his family and friends attempt to help return the alien home. Taking my 2 oldest daughters to Relativity Media’s latest action-adventure/sci-fi release “EARTH TO ECHO” (in theaters July 2nd), I was hoping to maybe…just maybe, recapture with my own kids, a modern day experience like I had when I was 9 with E.T, with ECHO.

In “Earth to Echo”, after receiving a bizarre series of encrypted messages, a group of kids embark on an adventure with an alien who needs their help. Read ahead to see what my kids and I thought of the film and gauge for yourself if “Earth to Echo” is right for you.

“Jersey Boys” A Rocking Good Time (Film Review)

Creating a blast from the past, Clint Eastwood delivers Jersey Boys the rocking musical that took Broadway by storm. Creating more of a drama than a song fest, the movie takes the audience from the Four Seasons chaotic beginning to stardom. Using the lead actor from the original Broadway cast the movie emulates more than what most everyone has been eagerly awaiting.

“Ida” a Compelling Post WWII Drama (Foreign Film Review)

The taut drama Ida takes a turn at the box-office with a black and white stunner that spins back the clock to 1960’s Poland. A work of art for the screen this indie has powerful performances and creative direction that blows you away. Not an ordinary film involving Jewish war casualties, this one does a convincing job of putting transgressions into perspective.

In this latest episode of our Beyond the Marquee web-series, our resident Junior Red-Carpet Reporter Lindalee Rose heads down to Los Angeles to the 2014 LA Film Festival for the World Premiere of EARTH to ECHO. In Relativity Media’s latest film, a group of kids receive a bizarre series of encrypted messages and embark on an adventure with an alien who needs their help to get back home. Check Out STAR WARS THE MUSICAL

I got an email from a friend of mine last night who gave me a heads up about a project he just finished working on and launched on YouTube yesterday. After watching the first few seconds, I knew I had to share it with our BTM readers. STAR WARS The Musical is a Disney Parody Fan film that collides the worlds of Disney and Star Wars into, well…a musical.

The production was shot entirely on green screen with multi-planer hand painted backdrops in the Disney animated tradition. We also discovered some good pals of ours from the Los Angeles 501st Legion of Star Wars cos-players not only starred in this but lent a hand, as well as droids and sabers to this video too. Word from the inside is that the Star Wars Musical is in the process of being converted to 3D and will have a big official theatrical release and showing in downtown Los Angeles in the next month or so. Beyond the Marquee’s already on the VIP guest list, so we’ll keep you posted on when and where that’s happening.
