“Rise of an Empire” The Greeks Strike Back (Film Review)

Not all sequels of movies work unless they were a blockbuster, had an unfinished story to tell and had characters that were likeable enough to warrant more screen time. In the case of 300: Rise of an Empire it had an uphill battle to capture all three of the justifications and it comes out on top.  With a graphic novelist like Frank Miller (“Ronin”, “Daredevil: Born Again”, “300”, “The Dark Knight Returns”, “Sin City”) in their back pocket, the filmmakers found a way.

LOCATION, LOCATION, Location? #16 – Spies Like Us Drive-In

Did ‘ya Guess It?

Despite some very subtle clues we provided on our Monday post and on the Beyond the Marquee Facebook page, we’re betting that no one out there was able to guess the 16th LOCATION, LOCATION, Location? entry…and that’s probably just how the DIA (Defense Intelligence Agency) would like to keep it!

Admittedly, this 16th LOCATION, LOCATION, Location? entry was very difficult to guess considering that the majority of what was seen in the NOW picture didn’t exist during the filming of this article’s featured movie. It also didn’t help that we blurred out a couple of identifying details as well.

[UPDATED] With An Apology from FUNNY or DIE! – The Truth Behind the Great HUVr’ Board Hoax!

Well, as quick as the promise of the future arrived, it was debunked and dismissed faster than an 88mph time-traveling DeLorean. Earlier in the day, we reported and gave some sarcastic commentary on a viral video for a company called HUVr tech that released a promotional video announcing to the world that flying Hoverboards, like the ones seen in the 1989 film Back to the Future part II, had finally become a reality.

But, some obvious clues from the video picked up by sharp-eyed BTTF fans had many calling HUVr’s bluff. The website, Funny or Die, come forward today an’official’ apology admitting the prank as theirs and also released a video statement video by actor Christopher Lloyd who had been part of the hoax.

Take a look at the new vids and check out our earlier post and breakdown of the original promotional video below. We don’t yet know if the apologies by Christopher Lloyd and Tony Hawk posted today were all part of the plan or if Funny or Die just decided the jig was up and decided to forget whatever elaborate schemes they had to keep the trickery going. Either way, the hoax is still a bit mystifying and we’re curious to see if anything more will come of it.
