OPENING DAY

WORLD PREMIERE

Well here we are, the red carpet has been rolled out, the premiere tickets have been printed, the concession stand is stocked, the theater swept and as the lights dim we recline in our seats and throw the switch in the projection booth.

The question now is, are you ready to go BEYOND THE MARQUEE?

The idea for this site has been something I’ve been wanting to do for years now, each time it’s taken on a different shape, form, reason and direction. Over the past 10 months I’ve decided to actually make it happen and to try and implement all those crazy ideas into one Entertainment Hub.

To be clear, the intent with Beyond the Marquee is not to compete with some of the very well-established Entertainment NEWS sites which you can clearly see I’ve linked to at the side of the Home Page. Those guys are very good at what they do, very polished and have established connections and reputations. Sure in-time we’ll earn our credibility as we grow, cover more ground and prove our worth, but as anything that’s new, that will all come in good time.

My dream has always been to create a home for my global community of friends and contacts who have a passion for all the wonderful things connected to the world of film (and beyond), from TV, Soundtracks, Posters, Theater, Video Games, etc. A place where they can come and share their incredible talents and personalities with others. Whether it’s writing a glowing review of a new film, venting about the cheapened ending of a TV series finale, questioning the marketing behind a studios poster campaign for a movie, sharing the excitement of extended tracks in the re-release of a long out-of print film score. That’s what you’ll find here.

I invite you to come on in, look around, check out the various categories with a little something for everyone. The digital-paint is still wet and there’s the evident hint of that “New Entertainment Web-Site Smell”, just be aware that in the days, weeks and months to come, the site will begin to evolve and manifest into it’s comfort zone.

I won’t be shy in hiding the fact that I’ve encountered some roadblocks along the way with attempting to launch this idea. It’s been a learning process on what it takes to actually build and craft a brand new web-site to your vision (and technical specs). On top of orchestrating the recruitment of friends to come on board to be writers it’s also been some work selling the site and it’s promise to potential subjects for the web-series. From working in the entertainment industry full-time to being a full-time husband and dad, finding the time to pursue such an ambitious endeavor certainly had it’s challenges, but I’ve made sure to keep in mind that this is all pure fun and am making the rules up as I go along.

The promise of what I know this site can be and can deliver excites me and I think you’ll be quite entertained by the level of passion, personalities and professionalism the team I’ve assembled has to offer.

So thanks for checking us out and drop-in reguarly as often as you can for updates, you never know what surprises are waiting when you go Beyond the Marquee!

Enjoy the Show.
