(The SPECIAL; we were so busy prepping for Comic-Con on Tuesday that we fell behind posting this up, Wednesday EDITION) Instead of bouncing around the net trying to find the latest trailers for the hottest films, just drop by Beyond the Marquee here on TRAILER TUESDAYS and we’ll load you up with what you need. Whether you’ve seen them already, or ar thirsty to revisit them again, here are this weeks’ latest and greatest.

 

 

WHY STOP NOW? (8-17-2012) The bittersweet story of Eli Smith, a piano prodigy, and his mother Penny who despite her cheerful, loving disposition, struggles with drug addiction. On the day of his audition for a prestigious music program, Eli’s mother plans to enter rehab, but a glitch in the system forces them to enlist the help of an unlikely ally, her drug dealer Sprinkles. Circumstances conspire that turn them into a comical yet determined band of collaborators who are forced to deal with their internal demons over the course of the day.

 

 

V/H/S (10-5-12) When a group of petty criminals is hired by a mysterious party to retrieve a rare piece of found footage from a rundown house in the middle of nowhere, they soon realize that the job isn’t going to be as easy as they thought. In the living room, a lifeless body holds court before a hub of old television sets, surrounded by stacks upon stacks of VHS tapes. As they search for the right one, they are treated to a seemingly endless number of horrifying videos, each stranger than the last.

 

 

OZ: THE GREAT AND POWERFUL *Sneak Peek* (3/8/13) – Check out the video from Entertainment Tonight that features a quick set visit  with James Franco and o sets up some of the plot for the prequel to The Wizard of Oz, in which Franco’s character finds himself in Oz and has to contend with three witches, played by Mila KunisRachel Weisz, and Michelle Williams.

 

 

LAWLESS (8/29/12) – Lawless is a 2012 Western crime film directed by John Hillcoat and starring Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska and Guy Pearce. The Nick Cave screenplay is based on the novel The Wettest County in the World by Matt Bondurant. Three brothers find their bootlegging business under threat in Prohibition-era Franklin County, Virginia. The story is based on Matt Bondurant’s grandfather and great-uncles.

 

 

ROBOCOP (8/9/2013)- *NOTE: Not an actual trailer, but a hint of the film to come via part of the early viral marketing campaign for Jose Padilha‘s new RoboCop, which will star Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Samuel L. Jackson and Hugh Laurie.

 

 

TAKEN 2 (10/5/12) International trailer for Taken 2, with Liam Neeson who returns to battle it out with some of the villains he confronted in the original film; Taken

 

 

RISE OF THE GUARDIANS (11/21/2012)- RISE OF THE GUARDIANS is an epic and magical adventure that tells the story of Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, the Sandman, and Jack Frost – legendary characters with previously unknown extraordinary abilities. When an evil spirit known as Pitch lays down the gauntlet to take over the world, the immortal Guardians must join forces to protect the hopes, beliefs and imagination of children everywhere.
