Our TOP 10 Halloween Movie Picks

WE WANT TO KNOW, WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE SCARY MOVIE?

Jon Donahue here, sitting in my hotel room in Berlin (that’s in Germany). They are low key on Halloween around here, so I have to make Halloween my own this year…and by that I mean decorating my room with orange pumpkin lights that I found at the mall and pop in some good scary flicks. Here are my picks for some ghoulish Halloween fun this year (or any year!)…

10.) Hostel – Like I said, I’m in Germany and this flick is gory fun…if you like that sort of thing. Luckily, I’m nowhere near a hostel.

9.) The Monster Squad – What would Halloween be without Dracula, Frankenstein’s Monster, The Creature from the Black Lagoon (gill Man), The Mummy, and the Wolfman?! This one’s got nards!

8.) Shaun of the Dead – Simon Pegg & Nick Frost battle ZOMBIES. Need I say more?

7.) Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn – Bruce (“ASH”) Campbell is trapped in a haunted cabin in the woods. Sam Raimi’s horror/comedy masterpiece! Groovy.

6.) Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter – Jason vs. Corey Feldman in what was NOT the final chapter in the series. Long live Jason!

5.) The Thing – Aside from “Halloween”, John Carpenter’s best work. Actually, it’s a tie. Well, then there’s “Big Trouble in Little China”…

4.) Fright Night – Here’s the deal: I LOVE the original. I also LOVE the re-make. Take your pick…BOTH are guaranteed good, bloody FUN!

3.) The Return of the Living Dead – They’re back from the grave and ready to party! My absolute, without a question, FAVORITE zombie flick!

2.) Halloween – John Carpenter just gets it right with this one. I’m listening to the soundtrack as I type this…

1.) Poltergeist – Yes, Poltergeist. I love everything about this ghost story. I just ordered the sequel on blu from Amazon.

There ya have it. Ten fun, horrific titles to entertain and…scare you! Happy Halloween!

Monster Squad is a true favorite, Poltergeist for sure but I’m also fond of the Childs Play movies.
