A new mural on Stage 8 at FOX commemorates 1988’s Die Hard

Last night Beyond the Marquee’s own Joe Vega was on-hand at Twentieth Century Fox studios for the unveiling of the new mural painted on Stage 8 of the studio lot. Fox is know for having some fun murals on their sound-stages of some of their iconic productions produced on that lot, from the Empire Strikes Back, to the Simpsons. Now in celebration of the latest Die Hard film A Good Day to Die Hardand in conjunction with the 25th anniversary of the original Die Hard movie, Bruce Willis was immortalized for decades to come. With a detonator in hand the countdown began and then Bruce flicked the switch, fireworks exploded and the curtain shrouding the mural dropped down to reveal a classic shot of his character John McClane from the 1988 original film. The crowd cheered, and the explosions and fireworks that accompanied the reveal had car alarms in the lots parking structure beeping and honking for sometime after. On hand were also some of Bruce’s co-stars of the new film Jai Courtney, Yuliya Snigir, Radivoje Bukvic and the director himself, John Moore. The event continued nearby at the Fox Plaza building (aka Nakatomi Plaza) from the original film with food, drinks and dancing.
