Review: These shorts are great because they bridge the gap in-between the full-length movies and keep the excitement and energy of the franchise alive. This one was as fun as watching the movies, the fact that the voices stay consistent and the level of comedy is always top notch. Whether you’re 3 or 33, as with most Dreamworks Animated movies, the jokes and fun appeal to a wide age range. Picture and Audio quality are great for DVD standards and looked and sounded as sharp and clear as could be. Would be nice to eventually see all these Madagascar shorts on Blu-ray one day. Compensating for the shortness of the movie (22 minutes, which was the only complaint the kids seemed to have when watching this) the added Extras kept us watching for another 10 minutes or so after. First Flight is a little slow, but the comedy is peppered in enough to keep you interested. Hammy’s Boomerang Adventure was a real treat and everyone not only laughed at the movie, but my daughters made me repeat the end credits about 6 times so they could dance to Ben Folds “Heist” which plays over them. Again, if you’re a fan of the Madagascar films, then certainly add this to your collection as it bridges the gap in-between films and keeps these colorful and comedic animals gone wild alive and current until the next installment and most likely the one after that…
