Viva Glam

Grammy winning superstar, Rihanna partnered with MAC Cosmetics for a chance to spread awareness. The pop star hopes to draw attention to the national HIV/AIDS epidemic as the Viva Glam campaign spokesperson. The charitable efforts encompassed the launch of Rihanna-ispired lipstick and lipglass. The limited edition red frosted lip wear matches the singer’s edgy style. Profits made from sales of the signature shade benefit women, men and children living with and affected by HIV and AIDS. The goal is to raise $40 million with the Viva Glam campaign, the singer revealed in a Good Morning America interview. The company also contributed a $200 million grant to UN AIDS, a global organization that focuses on youth prevention of HIV and AIDS.

Curate for a Cause

Online home décor and furnishings company, Joss and Main, takes style to noble heights. The company’s Curate for a Cause events feature a class act of philanthropic A-listers. Joss and Main partners with fashionable celebs to put charitable giving at the forefront of design. The limited edition events give homeowners an opportunity to add Hollywood style into their homes. Sales from the curated collections benefit the Endometriosis Foundation of America. Featured curators include: Nicole Richie, Courteney Cox, Padma Lakshmi, Orlando Bloom and Nicholas Sparks.

One for One

Since 2006, TOMS founder and Chief Shoe Giver Blake Mycoskie has provided more than 10 million pairs of shoes to children in need. The one-for-one mission promises to donate a pair of shoes for every pair sold. In 2012, TOMS partnered with Academy Award winning actor Ben Affleck to continue growing the mission. Affleck and TOMS joined forces to create limited edition, Congolese-inspired shoes. For each sale of custom design shoes, the company donates $5 toward Eastern Congo Initiative (ECI). Founded by Affleck, ECI is the first U.S.-based advocacy and grant-making initiative focused on working with and for the people of Eastern Congo. More than monetary donations, TOMS also distributes one pair of shoes to an Eastern Congo child for every pair sold.

Rescue Waggin’

Known as Fergie’s better half, actor Josh Duhamel has a soft spot for four-legged friends. As a rescue pet parent himself, Duhamel realizes the importance of adopting shelter animals. To help spread the word, the “Transformers” star joined forces with the PetSmart Rescue Waggin’ initiative. The program rescues healthy dogs from kill shelters, and saves them from euthanasia. The pups are then transported to areas where adoptable pets are in greater demand. He made it his mission to share this initiative with the world by putting his film making experience to work. Through his production company, Dakotakid Media, Duhamel documents the heartwarming journey of pets given a new leash on life.
