30 Years of Ghostbusters

It’s official! August 28th is “National Ghostbusters Day” and the timing couldn’t be more perfect as fans around the world celebrate 30 years of Ghostbusters.   Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson lead the cast as the “Ghostbusters,” spirit-exterminators who fearlessly take on the other-worldly evil infiltrating Manhattan, whether it manifests itself as wicked green slime or an ancient tyrant back from the dead to take over the world. The spooktacularly successful franchise captured the imagination of audiences around the world and redefined the action-comedy genre in the process.

Starting Friday, August 29th, Sony Pictures Entertainment is re-releasing the original Ghostbusters movie fully restored in 4K for a limited theatrical run. Make sure to check your local listings for theaters showing the film in your area or visit Ghostbusters.com for details on screenings and much more. In addition to the theatrical re-release, Sony will be rolling out an entirely remastered Blu-ray set of Ghostbusters 1 & 2 on September 16th. The new Blu-rays feature updated Special Features and boast a 4K-mastered transfer of the films.
