On June 8th the Dark Knight Rises Interactive Display made its debut Nationwide in Theaters around the Country. The opportunity to become Bane, Catwoman or the Dark Knight and spread your message to the citizens of Gotham City is all due to the creative geniuses over at Midnight Oil Creative in collaboration with Warner Bros for the upcoming film that hits theaters next month. Beyond the Marquee’s own Joseph Vega dropped by the Midnight Oil headquarters top-secret production facility in Burbank CA to learn first hand how this Augmented Reality display works from owner Brandon Gabriel.

The Dark Knight Rises – In-theater Experience
The Warner Bros. Pictures: Dark Knight Rises – In-theater Experience showcases character art for Batman, Bane and Catwoman. Movie-goers walks up to a touch sensitive display and can choose one of the three characters. Facial recognition software combined with “Augmented Reality” places one of three masks on the consumers face. Movie-goers are then prompted to record a brief video message as their favorite character from the movie and then have the ability to later download it and share it across multiple social networking platforms. The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters July 20th 2012 Nationwide.
