Watch the Ultimate 25 Minute Super Preview of THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN

The Amazing Spider-Man

I swear I have had this conversation over and over with friends of mine in the industry for the past few years (or more), that studios are just being too reckless with releasing TOO MUCH material for their films TOO EARLY. Growing up, the movies of the 70’s-90’s never had this much pre-promotion and buzz. We had no Internet, no Viral Videos, no Chat Rooms, no bombardment of Spoilers in the way of clips, teasers, featurettes, multiple trailers, etc to over sell a good movie. Back in “the day” we had a movie trailer, just one, maybe two if lucky, a poster in the theater, perhaps a photo in a popular magazine, a featured article in a STARLOG, and the occasional behind the scenes making of tease on HBO. Unfortunately now the exposure to a films content, spoilers. secrets, endings and surprises are unavoidable. Point in case…this week a video was posted up that was composed by one fan, who painstakingly combed thru endless domestic and international teasers, clips, TV spots, sneak peeks, featurettes, behind the scenes highlights and more…to make a 25 minute…”EXTENDED TRAILER” For this Summer’s The Amazing Spiderman.

I’m surprised someone didn’t do this with Prometheus, a movie so shrouded in a cloak of mystery that then suddenly barraged the world with an enormous flood of marketing materials that saturated the market and revealed far too much of any mystery that remained. This Amazing Spiderman 25 minute trailer is clearly an example as well of too much material released to promote a movie that honestly sells itself without such a hard push. Unknowing to SONY, this assortment of digital media painted quite a large picture of the films plot, all in jigsaw pieces that when one clever and talented fan put them all together, paints a pretty broad over-view of what this movie is all about.

SPOILERS below who those who dare to continue. Look…kudos to SleepySkunk who’s patience and cleverness gave us a remarkable sneak peek to one of this Summer’s most anticipated films. And now SONY has been trying to pull this video off the net, though technically anyone else can go recreate it with the materials they have officially released anyway out to the public. Will this be a wake up call to studios that LESS IS MORE!?!?! We shall see…in the mean-time, until SONY pulls this link…enjoy this sneak peek at The Amazing Spiderman!

Dear “asmith”, ALL that Hollywood puts out has already been done in one way or another and is a creative rehash of something previously done – that is not news to anyone in the industry, whereas too much media material floating around pre-release is a more commonly heard complaint. As to the commas, there are 33 in this short 3-paragraph article, quite enough commas for us loyal readers.

I’m glad your satisfaction in less than satisfactory grammar and punctuation sits backseat to your desire for more Hollywood drivel, at a travesty of a price. Complete with a disproportionate amount of misplaced concern for spoilers of regurgitated ideas with the false belief that you don’t already know what’s going to happen.

I suppose you will still pay to see it in 3d, too.

Oh, now I get it! Thanks for clearing that up. “Your satisfaction in less than satisfactory grammar and punctuation sits backseat”.. Bwahahahaha! With that sentence structure, I assume you either didn’t pass or something traumatic happened in your English class, which is why you now have a disproportionately negative attitude.. OR your medication just needs to be adjusted again. 🙂 Have a nice day!

Wow.. Right, way too much material, don’t really need to see the movie any more.. Wasn’t too excited about Andrew to begin with.. a few cool scenes but overall looks like it’s going to be just a skateboarding version of the same old cheese. The definitive Spiderman is yet to be made. And by the way, what’s up with the outsourcing of American superhero roles to British actors now? Spiderman, Superman, Batman..
