Our Minion Opinion of Despicable Me 2 – A Laughfest (Film Review)

They’re back again those funny characters that make the animated film Despicable Me 2 a hilarious situation comedy that delivers the laughter.  I’m speaking of the pill shaped ‘work a bee’s’ for the villain Gru called Minions.  In this sequel they dominate the screen and give most of the audience what they came for, a lot of chuckles.  My favorite among the humans Agnes still remains the shining star and she’s as adorable as ever.

The Lone Ranger, A Wild Train Ride (Film Review)

Taking a chance on an old-timer favorite producer and director Gore Verbinski brings a remake of The Lone Ranger to the big screen.  Loosely based on the 1956 movie starring Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels his casting of Armie Hammer and Johnny Depp somewhat mirrors the two original players and delivers a solid hit.  It’s a wild western filled with thrills.

We Review Matty Collector’s Comic-Con Exclusives of Superman vs General Zod and Shazam!

Cocaine. As our friend Rick James famously mentioned on the Chappelle Show – it’s a hell of a drug. To a toy collector though, it falls far short of that sweet, sweet rush that only a certain plastic can give. That plastic has a name: Exclusive.

The San Diego Comic-con (July 18-24) is home to some of the hottest exclusives of the year. This year’s lineup boasts over 50 companies pledging to bombard fans, convention goers and collectors alike with close to 200 individual products. Yes, whether you’re a collector or not, there will be something for everyone’s flavor. Collectors plan pilgrimages to the mecca of all things pop culture in an effort to gain a foothold on their need (our need? Ok, I confess to making said sojourn once or twice in the last couple of years) for this plastic drug we so desperately crave.

We Interview Greg Cox, Author of the Movie Novelization of Warners Bros. MAN OF STEEL

The MAN OF STEEL Movie Novelization

The MAN OF STEEL Movie Novelization

Greg Cox has been adapting novels and writing stories in other universes for twenty years. Over the past two decades, he has adapted Superman novels from comic book story-arcs, and has written movie adaptation for both Marvel comics (Daredevil) and DC comics (Dark Knight Rises) and everything in between for film (Underworld), TV (Warehouse 13), and even the web (Riese). I was given the opportunity to sit down with him and find out a little bit more about what it’s like to write for these worlds, and to hear more about his experience with Man of Steel, which is now available from our good friends at Titan Books.
