Who is Joshua Voiles and Why is Tom Hanks Tweeting About Him!?!?

Meet Joshua Voiles

You never know when your 15 minutes of fame may come, but for musician, life-coach and marketer Joshua Voiles, this week may be his time. Earlier this week one of Joshua’s YouTube videos on his rant for his love of the recent Wachowski sibling’s and Tom Tykwer’s epic film “Cloud Atlas”, was re-tweeted by not one, but two of the main stars of this film itself, actor’s Jim Sturgess and the legendary Tom Hanks! “Holy smokes! Jim Sturgess… The awesome actor who plays my favorite character in my favorite movie just freaking tweeted my video… AHHHH YES!” Joshua posted on his Facebook on Monday when he learned of the news. Then, yesterday, Voiles was dumbstruck again with awe as he learned of Tom Hank’s approval of the review, posting; “Okay. Wow. Just freaking wow. Tom Hanks just tweeted my newest video to his 6 million followers. First Jim Sturgess… Now Tom freaking Hanks?! This is ridiculously exciting. My face just melted off.” Within no time on Tuesday, some of Hank’s six-million followers were racing to Joshua’s YouTube channel to watch his 6:27 review of the film. Joshua’s other videos on his channel cover a bevy of topics from death, personal private stories, forgiveness, emotional issues but all done with a direct, in your face, edgy, choppy editing style. We’ve posted the “Cloud Atlas” video below, check it out, and tune into the Internet’s SKIDROW RADIO this Saturday night at 8:00pm PST, to hear Joshua LIVE on-air with Beyond the Marquee’s own Jon Donahue (who had a role in “Cloud Atlas”), current guest-host of “The Call Sheet“, to discuss the “Cloud Atlas” review video and the recent notaritety Voiles has gotten from some of Hollywood’s heavy hitters.

Mattel Hot Wheels 1:43 scale Elite Cult Classics Back to the Future Time Machine (Product Review)

Mattel Hot Wheels 1:43 scale Elite Cult Classics Back to the Future Time Machine

Anyone who knows me, or has known me for any length of time knows I’m a HUGE Back to the Future fan and my passion for the film trilogy clearly has been evident in the articles we post and the original content we’ve created here on Beyond the Marquee about it. So I was quite excited last week to recieve (from Italy of all places) my new Mattel 1:43 scale Hot Wheels Elite Back to the Future 1985 Delorean for review. Since I was a kid…even before Back to the Future made them cool…I loved the Delorean, then the movies just pushed that love over the edge. I’ve collected all the various BTTF Deloreans cars over the years from Hot Wheels, Johnny Lightning, Welly, Mini-Mates, Hallmark, Texaco Mini’s, Vitesse, Sunstar, Polar Lights, Corgi and Diamond Select to name a few. This Cult-Classic Elite version of course is not just a welcome addition to the personal Delorean collection, but also a treat, in that I get to review the product too! Click ahead for lots of pics and my review. Thanks to Mattel and the Hot Wheels team for the opportunity to share this with our readers.

The Forgetful Fairy Conjures Up Some TV Personalities in a Re-Telling of The Frog Prince

While you may have heard the story of the classic fairy tale The Frog Prince, and even seen various TV and Film adaptations, we’re pretty certain you’ve not seen this unique re-telling. Beyond the Marquee reader Becky Brown shared with us a version she found on YouTube as told by the flighty, but fabulous, Forgetful Fairy. In The Forgetful Fairy and the Yucky Frog Prince, former “MAD TV” actress and voice of PBS’s “WordGirl, Dannah Phirman is the Forgetful Fairy and helping her along the way to tell the story are TV personalities Ellie Kemper (Erin from NBC’s “the Office”), Rob Corddry (Dr.Blake Downs of Adult Swim’s “Children’s Hospital”) and Mike Phirman (Himself on BBC America’s “The Nerdist”). Always a treat to see some of your favorite actors in smaller productions or personal projects that slip thru the mainstream cracks and become those rare-find sort of gems you haphazardly stumble upon. This version of The Frog Prince certainly is quirky, fun and why there aren’t more of these Forgetful Fairy videos we don’t know, but we want them!!! This definitely harkens back to the silliness and tongue in cheek humor that “Fractured Fairytales” on the “Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle” used to deliver. We hope to see more of these Forgetful Fairy’s tales soon and will update you if we are made aware of any new postings. Note: We also suggest you check out Dannah Phirman in the hilarious “Game of Thrones” parody; Game of Clones, a MUST SEE!

Check Out This Amazing 3D Rendering of BACK TO THE FUTURE’s Hill Valley Town Square

This morning we got an email from our good friend Bob Gale (Co-Producer, Co-Writer, Co-Creator) of the Back to the Future trilogy, who shared with us this amazing digital 3D creation of Hill Valley’s 1985 town square he found on YouTube.

“The quality and detail will make your jaw drop!  This guy really did his homework!” says Gale.  Watching the 3:19 real time point of view journey around the town you’ll no doubt agree. The reasoning is unclear as to what this is for although it has a hint and feel of something right out of a high-end video game.  We love how the camera not just takes you around the town, but right into the open door of the gull-winged DeLorean time-machine itself. Though we can’t seem to find out who this person is (we know his user name is Djol203 and he’s from France), exploring his YouTube channel we did find some other similar examples of his love for Back to the Future like 3D renderings of Marty McFly, Biff Tannen’s car and an early visual layout for Hill Valley in 1955.  Take a look and let us know what you think…
