BURT WONDERSTONE poster inc

Burt Wonderstone, Loses its Magic (Film Review)

Not overly zealous in the comedy department, but The Incredible Burt Wonderstone gets high marks for charming.  Support acting, direction and some great movie magic save the film making it almost worthwhile.  If you are a fan of Steve Carell, he’s still at the top of his game, but its Buscemi, Arkin, Wilde and Carrey that make him the star.

CALL poster

The Call, a Tense Thriller (Film Review)

Bringing the workings of the police emergency 911 to the screen, The Call makes for a very edgy thriller with a story that will keep you on the edge of your seat.  The excellent direction of the terror script with fine acting from Halle Berry and Abigail Breslin makes everything so real I found myself gripping the seat at times.

LORE poster

Lore, a Story of Abandonment and Survival (Film Review)

One of the most sensitive and disturbing themes fuels Lore, a mesmerizing drama opening this weekend in theaters.  It’s about the opposite side of the coin when Germany gets taken by the Allies during WWII. Seen through the eyes of a 14-year-old German girl, this film takes you on a journey that will shock, outrage and sadden.
