Greatest Jerks of the Silver Screen: Daniel from V (1983) and V: The Final Battle (1984)

Daniel the evil man/boy, clutching a fine example of an original Visitor pistol

This is a tribute to “Daniel,” one of the greatest jerks ever to grace the silver screen…the small one, that is. In 1983, V kicked sci-fi rumps everywhere, reminding us all that aliens don’t always want to share their Reeses Pieces with humanity. V was an excellent miniseries that still holds up today, about an alien invasion that appears friendly at first but soon becomes sinister and fascist, harkening back to the rise of the Nazi regime in Germany.

MARVEL Unveils the Title Treatments and Concept Art for their Upcoming Releases!

THOR 2’s Official Logo

Today was a huge day for MARVEL fans at San Diego’s Comic-Con with an unveiling of the new Mark VIII Iron Man 3 armor and sneak peek footage from the film in addition to MARVEL President Kevin Fiege debuting the logos for the slate of new films set to come.   Ant-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and Thor: the Dark Ages.

The excitement in Hall H was immense as the titles flashed upon the screen like a bombardment of candy from a piñata … it was all so delicious a treat to take in.  Kicking off with Iron Man 3 next year, we should be in for quite an exciting ride.  Who would’ve thought we’d see the day that Rocket Raccoon would make it onto the big screen!!?!? Only the die-hards will understand that reference and appreciate the Guardians of the Galaxy concept art that was premiered today as well!  Check out the logos below and let us know what you think…

JAWS Producer, Richard Zanuck Dies At Age 77

Producer Richard Zanuck and Director Steven Spielberg on the set of JAWS.

Sad news today for fans of some of the greatest films of all time.  Legendary producer, Richard Zanuck, passed away on Friday after suffering a heart attack.  He was 77 years old.

Mr. Zanuck was the son of famed Twentieth Century Fox studio mogul Darryl Zanuck.  He was able to escape the impressive shadow of his father and make a name for himself in Hollywood as a producer in his own right.  He will most notably be known and remembered as the producer of Steven Spielberg’s JAWS, ushering in the age of what is now known as the summer blockbuster.  It was Richard Zanuck who truly gave Spielberg his start in theatrical motion pictures by collaborating on his first big film, The Sugarland Express.  Years later, the two would continue working together on several projects as producers.  (See our exclusive video with Richard Zanuck below speaking about working with a young Steven Spielberg.)

Marvel Movies Poster Art

As I’ve mentioned here before, I’m a huge fan of alternative poster art and as a graphic designer I love to create my own fan art to celebrate some of my favorite movies.  This is a golden time for Marvel movie fans like myself as we have been treated to the release of Thor, Captain America, X-Men First Class, The Avengers and most recently, The Amazing Spiderman.

I decided last year to create my own alternative poster art to coincide with the release of each movie so its my pleasure to display the final set of 5 Marvel movie posters.  Each design is slightly different in style to reflect the style of the relative movie.
