Beyond the Marquee MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Episode 13: T.R.A.C.K.S. (T.V. review — redacted)
February 7th, 2014
Steven D'Arcangelo What follows is a classified document critical of this week’s new S.H.I.E.L.D. episode. For reasons of national security, several information-sensitive passages have been redacted at the request of Director Fury.
Rumors that this was a cover-up perpetrated by the reviewer in order to “get out of” having to write a full, cohesive review cannot be denied nor confirmed at present time. Nor can the fact that said reviewer lacked writing time due to “forgetting” about the new episode until 3 days after it had aired. Rest assured, however, that the reviewer in question has been detained and transported to a top secret location for psychological reconditioning and/or replacement by an L.M.D.
You may now proceed with perusal of said document, but do so at your own risk for S.H.I.E.L.D. has eyes and ears… everywhere.
“Monuments Men” A Battle for Art (Film Review)
February 6th, 2014
John Delia
If you are looking for a big action film from this weekend’s Monuments Men, it’s not. More of a historical recreation of true events, the movie tries very hard to open a window to an important part of WWII history, but barely achieves it. Loading the movie with familiar faces of top actors, director George Clooney makes his film more of a docudrama than an entertaining action film. If you are looking for a lot of excitement, it’s all in the trailer. Beyond that, get on the bus for a tour of Europe complete with 1940’s soldiers in uniform and fine art lectures.

Beyond the Marquee: The Web-Series (Episode 59): Bob Gale’s RETRIBUTION HIGH
January 31st, 2014
Beyond the Marquee If you’ve ever been bullied and wished the worst on your tormentors, then the latest novel by “Back to the Future” co-creator/writer/producer Bob Gale is exactly you’ve been waiting for. Retribution High combines elements of “Carrie” and the “Friday the 13th” movies with Clint Eastwood’s “High Plains Drifter” and puts them into a contemporary high school setting, with some “Tales From The Crypt” sprinkled in as well.
For this interview, we sent Beyond the Marquee’s own AJ Locascio (the voice of Marty McFly in the popular Telltale Video Game version of Back to the Future ) as he seemed like the perfect host to sit down with Bob to discuss his new book. But be forewarned … as Gale explains to our audience in the above video … Retribution High is dark, twisted, violent, nasty and harsh. It’s not politically correct. It’s not for everybody. And it’s not family entertainment. It’s a high school horror tale in which the bad kids get what they really deserve. If you’re interested in picking up a copy of Retribution High for yourself, click ahead for ordering details.
