The Doctor Who 50th Anniversary

The folks over at BuzzFeed posted an in-depth synopsis yesterday revealing 35 awesome Easter Eggs from the 50th Anniversary episode of DOCTOR WHO, “The Day of the Doctor”. It was so good that we couldn’t resist sharing it with our readers. Now, granted, you really have to be an invested Doctor Who fan for several years to get most of these references to the 50 year-long history of the show.

However, even those who have a passing knowledge of the Doctor Who universe might find something interesting detailing the depth the current show creators put in as nods to the show’s impressive history. Our own Whovian reporter, Lindalee, is currently on her way back to her Los Angeles home after her trip to the 50th Anniversary in London. Her unpredictable Tardis has been acting up a bit, but once she gets the translation matrix working again, she’ll be presenting several new videos from her whirlwind experience at the celebration. Just wait and see who she bumped into from the expansive Doctor Who universe!

Lindalee Meets the 11th Doctor, Matt Smith!

5 1/2 year old Lindalee Rose is living the dream as she’s in London for Doctor Who’s 50th Anniversay Celebration. This fresh young Whovian who just over a year ago began her on-camera reviews of the hit BBC show, has now travelled to the birthplace of the show to not only partake in the weekend’s festivities and talk to fans, but to meet some of the cast from the show as well. Her 1st day on the job made the trip worthwhile as she met the show’s resident time-lord, Matt Smith (the 11th Doctor). Keeping with the theme of the birthday weekend, Lindalee had some unique questions of her own for Matt.

“Catching Fire” Blazes as The Hunger Games Continues (Film Review)

The Hunger Games continues with “Catching Fire” and as the title suggests, the movie does just that.  The compelling adventure starts out with a bang, continues with non-stop action and leaves you hanging for the next installment.  The main cast is back and they put on a great show recreating their characters for this sequel.  On the downside, even through the CGI is brilliant, it gets too heavy-laden and almost animated, leaving very little to the imagination.  Most audiences will walk away from the experience with an empty feeling being left hanging in the middle of the battle.
