Pooh has been a constant favorite in our household for years. It’s amazing to watch my kids request to watch the Pooh movies over and over and over again and never seem to tire of them. The Tigger Movie is as endearing and charming as all the others that have come before and after it. You might expect that the look would favor a cheaper direct to video style, but don’t forget, this was released theatrically and the care and effort to make this a visual masterpiece was not spared. Though Disney insiders may tell you that these Pooh movies are just created to keep the brand alive to sell toys and baby diapers (Pooh diapers are a billion dollar cash-cow for the company), you don’t get the sense that this is a ploy to do anything more than entertain you with classic characters and good morals.

THE PICTURE: Virtually flawless. It’s hard to scrutinize something that’s not there and this film leaves little to comment on when it comes to quality. Sharp, crisp, clear, vibrant, rich and vivid are all adjectives which best describe the video quality and look of this Blu-ray. Foreground and Background were given the kiss of Disney Magic and devotion to a long-lasting brand that continues to deliver fun in every incarnation. Compared to the past DVD release of the film, they really cranked it up a couple notches in making sure this looked as sweet as a pot of Pooh’s honey for this transfer! Well done.

THE SOUND: 5.1 HD Dolby Theater Sound on this one and every second resonates pure audio brilliance. Sharp clear and clean, no hisses, no over modulation, just rich sound out of every speaker the whole time. From falling leaves to crunching grass to snowy wind to big bounces, all the sound and sound effects are strong and defined. It’s a true treat when picture and sound marry together to form something so beautiful and that’s what you take away from this latest Disney release.

• 10 Mini Adventures of Winnie the Pooh Shorts – These are a fun retrospective look back at snippets of the shorts of the various stories from the Winne the Pooh films thru out the years, theres about a dozen, you forget how many there have been until you start watching.

• “Round My Family Tree” Sing-Along Song – If you know the words, feel free to sing along to one of the musical number from the film, and if you don’t know the words, they’ll be on the screen for you to learn!

• “Your Heart Will Lead You Home” Music Video – the classic music video with clips from the film performed by legendary singer/songwriter Kenny Loggins. Great song!
