Lindalee Takes to the Purple Carpet of the HUB Network’s First Annual HALLOWEEN BASH – Beyond the Marquee: The Web-Series (Ep.56)

Tomorrow night on The HUB Network will be the premiere of the channel’s First Annual “Halloween Bash”. The special will be hosted by Kenan Thompson (“Saturday Night Live”), along with Halloween expert and media mogul Martha Stewart and a panel of celebrity judges. The “Halloween Bash” also includes celebrity presenters, a Nationwide costume contest and chart-topping musical performances from singer Cody Simpson and the musical girl group Fifth Harmony.

Our very own 5 year-old Junior Reporter, Lindalee Rose, was on hand earlier this week in Los Angeles for the Red…well actually Purple Carpet for the celebrity arrivals that led up to the taping of the two-hour star-studded event. Not only was this the HUB’s first big event, but the afternoon also marked the first Red Carpet’esque experience for Lindalee, who held her own with Halloween themed questions and off the cuff improvisation with guests she interacted with. The BTM team family is quite proud of her.

Hub Network’s First Annual Halloween Bash will be airing tomorrow Saturday, October 26, 8–10 p.m. ET/5–7 p.m. PT on the Hub Network, a destination for kids and their families. Click ahead for some pics of Lindalee on the carpet and let us know how you think she did in the comments below. Thanks!

Check out RETRIBUTION HIGH, a Horror Story from the Co-Creator of the BACK TO THE FUTURE Films!

RETRIBUTION HIGH

RETRIBUTION HIGH

Our long time friend Bob Gale, co-writer/producer/creator of the “Back to the Future” film trilogy has something new up his sleeve, Retribution HighRetribution High is a dark, twisted, horrific tale of high school bullying, subtitled “A Short Violent Novel of Bullying, Revenge, and the Hell known as High School.”  If you’ve ever been bullied and wished the worst on your tormentors, then this is the novel you’ve been waiting for.

Retribution High combines elements of the “Friday the 13th” movies with Clint Eastwood’s “High Plains Drifter” and puts them into a contemporary high school, with some “Tales From The Crypt” sprinkled in as well. It’s dark, it’s twisted, it’s violent, it’s nasty and it’s harsh.  It’s not politically correct.  It’s not for everybody.  And it’s not family entertainment.  It’s a high school horror tale in which the bad kids get what they really deserve.  Retribution isn’t always divine, but it can be immensely satisfying! This new novel by Bob Gale, is now available exclusively in Amazon’s Kindle Store for $3.99, and from the Kindle Lending Library. A print version will be available soon. Click ahead for more details about the book…and look for an interview w/ author Bob Gale about his new book coming soon to Beyond the Marquee!

THE COUNSELOR, a Reckless Web of Deceit (Film Review)

No surprises here, Ridley Scott continues his inscrutable melodramas with The Counselor; a weak film that’s well-acted by a stellar cast, but with a theme that’s worn-out. While the cinematography gives his film a nice flare, the story and script by Cormac McCarthy (who gave us No Country for Old Men and The Road) could surely have been more original and captivating. As for Ridley’s work, one would have to look back as far as Black Hawk Down for a memorable action film and Thelma and Louise for a good compelling drama.

MARVEL’S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Episode 5: The Girl in the Flower Dress (T.V. review)

SHIELD Level 7

The promos for this week’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. feature an Asian guy with firestarter powers.  Marvel comics fans wouldn’t be wrong to think it was Sunfire, a Japanese hero who’s been around since 1970.  But no, it’s Scorch, a Chinese villain — the show’s first genuine super villain — created for the series.  Is this a letdown?  A little, but that’s only because Marvel comics have decades of characters to choose from, so it seems like a waste to create new ones.  Not to mention a lot of work.

Hey, showrunners, do yourselves a favor and shorten your work day by using what you legally have access to anyway — the vast Marvel comics universe as owned by Marvel Entertainment.  Even without heroes currently owned by other studios (Spider-Man at Sony, X-Men at Fox), that still leaves hundreds of characters that fans would love to see.  But I digress.  Let’s get to Ron Burgundy’s favorite baddie — Scorchy Scorch Scorch.

Disney/Marvel Unveils New “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” Poster

CaptainAmerica2

“Captain America: The Winter Soldier”

Today, the Disney/Marvel Creative Marketing team at the Walt Disney Studios unveiled their latest poster for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It’s a fun look at what might be in store for the second installment of Cap’s adventures.

Next April 4th, Chris Evans reprises his role as Captain America, the Patriotic Avenger fighting for Freedom and Justice! This time around Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff, (aka Black Widow), to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C.

No doubt from a close look at the poster, we’re going to see more of the Marvel Avengers universe have a presence in the individual Marvel hero films. We can’t wait! Click ahead for a larger image of the poster!
