While in London, Watch Out for Giant Hammers!

I've heard of a fork in the road, but not a 3 story tall Hammer!

I’ve heard of a fork in the road, but not a 3 story tall Hammer!

Followers of The Prince Charles Cinema in London were treated to a humorous PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT yesterday on the theater’s official Facebook page.

It read; “If you’re planning to come and see a film with us today, please be aware there is a GIANT MJOLNIR sitting in the middle of Leicester Square which may cause some slight delays when trying to reach our front doors.”

Clearly, this is a cool promotion marketing gimmick for the upcoming MARVEL film THOR: The Dark World.  We can’t wait to see what other surprises Disney has in store for this film before it’s release on November 8th.

Looking Back at the Future: Filmmakers Discuss GRAVITY at San Diego Comic Con

With the recent success of the film Gravity, I thought it would be interesting for readers of Beyond the Marquee to read some of the highlights from the Warner Bros. press junket I attended at the 2013 San Diego Comic Con. The junket included a lively discussion with director Alfonso Cuarón and Sandra Bullock. At the time of the press junket, the film was almost two months away from it’s theatrical release.

Gravity stars Sandra Bullock and George Clooney as surviving astronauts who work together to get back to Earth after an accident leaves them adrift in space. After hearing the logline for the first time at Comic Con, the premise sounded genuinely scary.
