Film Director Edgar Wright doesn’t disappoint with his latest Pegg – Frost comedy The World’s End. With the previous stellar films, Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, this latest in the comedy trilogy had a great deal to live up to. Impeccable timing, gruesome yet clever fight sequences, gripping action, great one-liners and a ridiculously funny script are just a few of the highlights. The story line is another unbelievable scenario playing out, where five old friends reunite to finish a bar crawl from 20 years ago, they become heroes and must save the day (and the world of course).
Beyond the Marquee’s own New Zealand correspondent “Lady Kiwi” was on hand for the New Zealand premiere for the film last week and delivers this review for the film. The World’s End opens in New Zealand this Thursday, followed after by Ireland, the UK, Canada, Iceland, Australia and will eventually get to us here in the states on Aug 23rd.
