Opening this weekend Emperor brings a film based on a true event that brought closure to the war in the Pacific during WWII. Questionable writing, direction and acting, the historical drama threads a romantic tale inside this biopic that tends to distract rather than add to the meetings between General MacArthur and the Emperor of Japan. Not at all what I expected, the movie misses its mark in the essence of the plot putting a damper on the real importance of the event.

Final Iron Man 3 Payoff Poster
It’s finally here, the final one-sheet for Walt Disney Studios and MARVEL’s Iron Man 3. We’ve been bringing you over the last few weeks the assorted posters that have been released both domestic and interntionally and today we get a look at the final one-sheet. Tony and Pepper are locked in an embrace and clearly at wits end after what we can gather has been a long and explosive day for them. Once again, as we saw in last weeks’ poster, an army of old and new Iron Man suits of armor are launching behind him. The new trailer for the film is racking up tons of hits on-line and truly builds the excitement and adventure in store for the May 3rd release of the film! March 6th, 2013 Beyond the Marquee Disney’s Wreck-It-Ralph is now out on Home Video (read our review here), and the web this week has seen a promotional surge of fun behind the scenes concept art, deleted clips featured on the Blu-ray and more. But something that completely came out of left field and actually ended up being quite a treat is this 28 minute ficticious expose with Wreck-It Ralph director Rich Moore as he tracks down the one time Fix-It Felix Jr. high score champion Garlan Hulse, his fall into obscurity, and his attempt to be on top again. Clearly “Garlan Hulse: Where Potential Lives” is aimed to be a spoof of the documentary The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters, and it really is one worth watching! Nice to see the efforts made to expand the Fix-It Felix Jr mythology it into something real, making even people on the official Wreck-It Ralph YouTube page questioning “So this game was real & older all along?”. Books on Tape…I mean CD…I mean iPod…I mean Kindel…I mean…
With our lives becoming more and more busy, many people are finding less time to sit down and read a good book. It seems to take a major best seller, like Harry Potter or Twilight, to get any teens to even consider entering a bookstore or library. The convenience of Amazon and the invention of Kindle have helped somewhat, but there is another way for individuals to read books without taking up time in their busy schedules. It is simple to download audio books online. Many individuals download them onto their mp3 players. If you have a smart phone you can use a specialized audiobook player application. As the graphic below shows, the most common place people listen to audio books, is in the car. Whether it is on a road trip or work commute, audio books pass time and provide a way for people to gain knowledge. There is much information that can be gleaned from listening to books and it can also help improve grammar and vocabulary skills. We recently stumbled upon Ambling Books where there are many free audio books online, in fact they have compiled a list of twenty available audio books, free! This is not a comprehensive list, but is a valuable list to get started listening to some of the most popular books ever written. Check out their site for their full selection!

One of Disney’s funniest animated films Wreck-it Ralph comes out today in a special 4 Disc Combo Pack that includes the Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, DVD and Digital Copy. The movie features a great voice cast, excellent direction and eye-popping 3D delivery. It is one of my favorites from 2012 and almost matched Oscar winner Brave for attendance worldwide.
