CONTEST: Win Disney’s OZ the Great and Powerful Original Motion Picture Soundtrack

The original soundtrack to Oz the Great and Powerful

The original soundtrack to Oz the Great and Powerful will be released by Walt Disney Records on March 5, 2013, just 3 days before the film hits theaters on March 8th.  Our good friends over at Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures have offered a chance for one lucky Beyond the Marquee fan to win a copy of Danny Elfman’s original motion picture score before it hits nationwide retail.  If you love great film scores then this one won’t disappoint and if you love Danny Elfman, then you’ll be doubly entertained.  The score sounds as epic and magical as his score for Disney’s Alice in Wonderland from just a couple years back.

Click ahead for a track listing and answer our Oz themed trivia question and you could be enjoying the sounds of Oz in time for the film’s release next week.

BACK TO THE FUTURE: THE GAME Arriving in the Near Future on the iPhone…

Back to the Future: The Game coming to iPhone

Back to the Future fans, if you’ve got your replica Mattel Hoverboard and your 1:43 scale Hot Wheels car, all is great in the world right? Well hold onto your Flux Capictor’s and get ready for Temporal Displacement because Telltale is bringing Marty and Doc into 2013 as Back to the Future: The Game comes to iPhone on Thursday 7th March! The new universal app will run on iPhone 4 and up as well as iPad, and is in fact the FIRST Telltale app to support the 16:9 display on iPhone 5. The new universal base app (Episode 1) will be FREE at launch for a limited time only – grab it while you can! All 5 episodes in the season will be available at once, so there’s no need to wait for the next installment. The base app (Episode 1) features an in-game menu where you can purchase Episodes 2-5 individually, or save by getting the Episodes 2-5 multi-pack for the special introductory price of just $9.99. This new in-game menu means that instead of existing as separate apps on your device, all your BTTF goodness is contained in one handy package. We think it’s pretty cool that Beyond the Marquee’s own staff member AJ Locascio is actually the voice of Marty McFly in the Telltale Back to the Future games, so we’ll hopefully be getting the inside scoop from him on any updates or promotions tied into this release in the next month.

STAR WARS Blu-Ray Trilogies to be Released in Limited Edition Steelbook Packaging

Star Wars Eps 4,5,6 Steelbook (Rebellion Edition Cover)

Star Wars fans, get a load of this! If you have held off on purchasing the original Star Wars trilogy on Blu-ray, this may be a reason to hold out a little longer. Since their release in 2011, the Star Wars trilogy collections have become two of the bestselling Blu-ray Disc catalog releases of all time. Lucasfilm and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment announced this week that these beloved Star Wars sets, presenting the classic films in stunning HD, will be re-released in limited edition steelbook packaging at select retailers in the UK, Australia, Japan, and Spain. There is no US release currently planned. Release dates for the steelbook sets will be announced shortly. Kinda upsetting that the US is left out of the main re-release in this cool packaging, but who knows, perhaps something even more fun is in store for the domestic market? With two different versions to choose from, a Yoda or a Darth Vader, it adds a nice choice for those who either support the Empire, or those who side with the Rebellion. Click ahead to see both covers and let us know, would you buy these or hold out for another re-release in years to come, which at this point seems inevitable with new films coming out.
