Warm Bodies, Not Your Average Love Story (Film Review)

A nice job with a Romeo and Juliet theme, Warm Bodies shows what an imaginative writer/director can do with a zombie love story.  The slick little romancer creates fun out of terror and sends a lot of subliminal messages. Perfect for teens to twenties, it’s the perfect modern day date movie with both sexes looking for fun and some creative horror.

The USA has turned its population into zombies following an epidemic, germ warfare or other catastrophe of massive proportions.  Only a small city has survived behind tall walls and armed with a militia that’s ready for about anything.  Squads have been sent to seek food and medicine outside the walls and on this one occasion Julie (Teresa Palmer), the daughter of the militant leader Grigio (John Malkovich), has joined the group of searchers. The undead have been attacking these people and killing them for food, their brains being the best nutrition and they happen on Julie’s squad where a fight breaks out.

Heads up Whovians, a Doctor Who TV Movie is in the works!!!

David Bradley will be the first Doctor

It seems like lately there’s been these productions that go behind the scenes of the making of classic movies…whether it’s the Hitchcock behind the scenes HBO film w/ Sienna Miller “the Girl” or last years Michelle William’s film “My Week with Marilyn” or the upcoming Tom Hanks as Walt Disney portrayl of “Saving Mr.Banks”. There seems to be a desire to learn the secrets, scandal and challenges behind some of our most beloeved films of dyas gone by. But now we may be seeing that influence creeping into television as we’ve learned today with the announcement that a 90-minute BBC made for TV movie about the first Doctor Who is gearing up for production. Now before you get excited that you’ll see the making of the current series with Doctor Matt Smith running around fighting Daleks and Cybermen on a larger adventure packed adventure…sit tight…because in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Doctor Who this year, actor David Bradley will be slipping into the TARDIS as the original Doctor, William Hartnell. Movie Trailers to Watch For During Super Bowl 2013

Anticipated Movie Trailers during Super Bowl XLVII

Marketing is a huge part of a movie’s box office budget, and the Super Bowl is the grand stage when it comes to television spots. Cable.tv noted that premium 30-second spots in this year’s NFL championship game will cost in excess of $4 million, which is a new high. That’s not necessarily a bank breaker by Hollywood’s standards, but you’d better believe they want to get their money’s worth when showing off to an audience of more than 100 million people (the number of last year’s game, a 26-year record according to International Business Times). And they usually do. The movie “Act of Valor,” which premiered a trailer during last year’s Super Bowl, earned $24 million in it’s opening weekend, $10 million more than estimates predicted, USA Today reported. The movie, featuring real-life Navy Seals over big-name actors, owes a lot of its success to Super Bowl marketing. It’s a “go big or go home” playing field when it comes to competing for the country’s most coveted ad space, and these studios almost always go big.
