E.T. becomes Immortalized at MADAME TUSSAUDS

Madame Tussauds' sculptor Dan Woodley puts the finishing touches to the perfect clay sculpture that will be used as a blueprint for the wax figure of the legendary film character E.T. who will be immortalized on October 22nd at five attractions around the world – London, Amsterdam, Berlin, Sydney and Hollywood, and in Tokyo in March 2013. This unveiling celebrates the Blu-ray release and the 30th anniversary of Steven Spielberg’s beloved classic film E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial.

Hi everyone, Steve Czarnecki, from Beyond the Marquee here. As the clock ticks just past midnight here on the morning of Oct 12th, it’s hard to believe that 12 months ago, a long-time dream of uniting friends with a common interest in their love for Film, TV, and Entertainment gave birth to a little website and series called; Beyond The Marquee. As the inaugural year comes to an end, I wanted to to give a quick nod and reflect back on the past 365 days of posts, personalities, and prospects for the future.

Argo, a Tension Filled Rescue Operation (Film Review)

Based on a true story the suspense filled film Argo involving the rescue of six Americans opens in theaters this weekend. Set in the background of unrest in Iran during the President Jimmy Carter era, the covert operation was kept secret until the late 1990’s. The drama based on a book of the same title features a solid script, some fine acting and inspiring directing by Ben Affleck. It’s a reminder of what could happen again if we fail to protect our interests abroad.

Seven Psychopaths, a Comedy with Violence (Film Review)

When you have a violent comedy your cast must have the ability to carry out the dialogue with dead pan and tongue-in-cheek precision, with Seven Psychopaths there’s no doubt. Much like the humor in Inglourious Basterds, In Bruges and most of the Grindhouse films, the script and actors fit the bill. If you can deal with the bloody scenes and violence in this very funny tale of robbery and mayhem then this film’s made for you.
