We have to admit, it sort of took us by surprise and we’re extremely honored. In less than two years, after almost 1,100 posts and over 140 pieces of video (including 48 original web-series episodes and over 2 dozen “Lindalee: Doctor Who Review” segments), all our efforts at Beyond the Marquee have not gone unnoticed.
Beyond the Marquee is proud to announce that it has entered into a contractual agreement with Nerdist Industries and are now partners in The Nerdist Alliance.
For those unfamiliar with Nerdist, it is an Entertainment empire created by comedian writer, host and producer, Chris Hardwick, which extends into TV shows on BBC America, AMC (TV), assorted web Pod-Casts, a website, YouTube channel and much, much more. Essentially Chris Hardwick is to Star Wars, video games and Doctor Who, what Ryan Seacrest is to Top 40 Radio, “American Idol” and New Years Eve. The Nerdist Alliance is comprised of some of the most talented and passionate YouTube creators, who share in the brand awareness of the various elements within the Nerdist Empire.
All of us on the Beyond the Marquee team are excited to become a part of The Nerdist Alliance and we hope it will be a day long remembered. We’ll now have more of an ability to share our original web-series content, Entertainment news stories, celebrity interviews, personality-driven reviews and more to a wider audience who share and appreciate the similar interests and passions that were the foundation of Beyond the Marquee in the first place.

“Obviously, everyone at Nerdist is a big fan of Doctor Who, and we’re all proud to be partnering with Lindalee, the littlest, big Doctor Who fan. Beyond the Marquee’s dedication to highlighting and exploring the unsung heroes of filmmaking is exactly the kind of intelligent passion we seek in our Alliance partners and we can’t wait to see what stories they share with us next.”

For everyone involved behind-the-scenes at Beyond the Marquee, we all agree it has been quite an incredible journey building an Entertainment website based on the foundation of friends, family and colleagues in the business (both here in Los Angeles and in some cases, around the world). We are truly proud of every single letter typed and frame of video shot that have all helped add to the ongoing growth of Beyond the Marquee. With content flooding in just about every day ranging from news, reviews, and interviews in addition to our exclusive features and web-series episodes, we’ve been grateful to see our footprint literally go beyond the marquee.
We continually hear from fans, visitors to the site, and even our well-established media contacts about the professional, yet fun perspective Beyond the Marquee has maintained with our focus on almost all things film and television related. We set out to make a site that is family-friendly in nature, free of lewd comments or swearing, and is accessible to all age groups. It has been very gratifying to see that having a moral compass and commitment to providing the best-quality content we can produce with our resources has carved a niche for ourselves in comparison to other websites that have full/part-time paid staffs and decades of connections.
Joining The Nerdist Alliance is a true honor for the entire Beyond the Marquee team who have worked tirelessly, passionately and for free for almost 2 years. To now be recognized for those efforts by a celebrated media empire who believes in our vision and creative ideals only adds to the enjoyment we’ve already received from knowing our viewers appreciate our work. We are quite confident that Beyond the Marquee will benefit from the promotion of our posts on Nerdist’s various multimedia outlets which, in turn, will drive more traffic to our site and provide a boost in awareness of our YouTube channel as well as our social media destinations.
Our first big Nerdist Alliance partnering begins next week with the launch of GEEK WEEK on YouTube. The Nerdist team are huge fans of our resident 5-year-old, Lindalee, and her viral YouTube “Lindalee: Dr. Who Reviews” produced exclusively by Beyond the Marquee. We have a couple of upcoming sci-fi-related segments from her ready to premiere next week, so keep your eyes open for those to show up during GEEK WEEK, executive produced by Nerdist. In the meantime, we continue to work on some really fun and interesting projects we have in the pipeline and are anticipating sharing them soon with the Nerdist Alliance and a much wider audience.
Thank you, first and foremost, to The Nerdist and to everyone who believed in us from the start and gave their support. We truly believe the Force is with us and we will do our best to be custodians of this great honor.
Sincerely,
The Beyond the Marquee Team
