A Message from CEO Bob Iger on The Walt Disney Company’s 90th Anniversary Today

The Walt Disney Company

The Walt Disney Company

Put on your Mickey Ears and toss a birthday hat on top of them because today the Walt Disney Company celebrates it’s 90th birthday! It was back on October 16th 1923, when the legendary Walt Disney signed the historic contract to produce a series of Alice Comedies with MJ Winkler. This was the date that sparked the start of truly something magical – the start of the Disney Brothers Studio, which later became the Walt Disney Company. The rest as they say is ‘history’ with 90 years of television shows, theme parks, motion pictures, consumer products, restaurants, hotels and more.  The company truly has become the top brand name in family entertainment.

Read ahead for an official statement about the 90th Anniversary from CEO and Chairman of the Walt Disney Company, Robert (Bob) Iger, to all the Disney Cast Members (a.k.a. employees).

In a world of fake castles and anthropomorphic rodents, an epic battle begins when an unemployed father’s sanity is challenged by a chance encounter with two underage girls on holiday. Join us as we learn some of the secrets of the film Disney is denying to acknowledge, a film shot in parts at the various Walt Disney theme-parks…without the permission of Disney. ABC’s “ONCE UPON A TIME”, S3, Ep.3 (TV Review)

ONCE UPON A TIME - "Quite a Common Fairy"

ONCE UPON A TIME – “Quite a Common Fairy”

Previously on Once Upon a Time, Peter, oh yes that Peter, threatened to Emma that not only would she lose Henry to him, but that she would lose her parents as well. With that Emma and her band of mythical fairytale allies set off to rescue Henry; however as the episode starts off they are having challenges in locating Peter Pan’s camp more than ever before. Captain Hook realizes that he’s using magic to manipulate his camp’s position on the map itself, and believes that the only way to find Pan, the Lost Boys, and Henry is through Pixie Dust… you know what that means… cue the wings… TINKERBELL. Immediately after this request the Evil Queen argues against Tinkerbell’s magic, and contends that the Pixie Dust would be no more powerful than the Evil Queen’s magic. Through her fervor we find out later on that the Queen, in fact, has a far more complicated and damaged relationship with Tinkerbell. Read ahead for the rest of my review and recap of the episode…

“The Purge: Fear The Night” – An Intense, Live Experience

Scene from the film version of “The Purge”

‘Tis the season for a horde of haunted houses and theme park horror ventures — and in the midst of them — a very immersive, elaborate, and suspenseful experience has emerged as particularly unique. The Purge: Fear the Night is a live, interactive venture inspired by many key elements from the highly successful film which bears the same, core name — the film also recently made its debut on home video. Far different from the traditional “conga line”, passive/gallery-like viewing that takes place with so many horror attractions — here you’re thrown right in the center of the action — and you’re literally pulled into the narrative of the story: playing a vital role in the events that transpire.
